Dufrene Maurice (1876-1955) Artistic director of the Maitrise

Rare and exceptional mahogany support cabinet for La Maitrise.

It has six drawers with ivory pull handles, three solid doors and two glass doors with an intermediate shelf on the front. Lunel stone base and top. Sycamore interior (maple). Very good state.

 

The only known copy of this piece of furniture was part of the exhibition of Modern Applied Art organized in New York by the R.H Macy house and C°, in 1927

 

It still carries the transport labels for New York, the destination and the label mentioning the departure from France, the french customs stamp exhibition service « Art Exhibit from Dufrêne » Style 1284
