BACCARAT
BACCARAT
Founded in 1764 in the town of Baccarat, in Lorraine, the Baccarat crystal factory has been a symbol of French craftsmanship in the art of crystal for over two centuries. Supported by King Louis XV in its early days, the house has spanned the ages, creating refined objects that illuminate moments of celebration around the world. Renowned for the exceptional quality of its creations, Baccarat embodies elegance and the joy of living.
One of its most iconic works is the Harcourt glass collection, designed in 1841. These glasses, distinguished by their "triple button gondola" shape, adorned the tables of Napoleon III and continue to shine at presidential dinners, in embassies, and even at the Vatican. In 1925, the collection was officially named "Harcourt" in honor of one of France's oldest noble families. Over the decades, designers like Philippe Starck have reinterpreted these iconic pieces, offering them a modern touch while respecting their heritage.
Today, Baccarat continues to create crystal art pieces, ranging from lighting fixtures to jewelry and perfume bottles. Its museum, located near its workshops, bears witness to the house's history and global impact. Synonymous with luxury and refinement, Baccarat is more than just a manufacturer; it is a key player in the French art of living.
