Stylization of the male antelope. Very nice dark crusty patina, head with open mouth showing tongue. The eyes are made of hammered iron nails. Long horns, one of which has a native restoration.
The back of the head and horns are incised. Work in two parts, as is customary for horizontal Tji-Wara, linked to the neck by bent irons.
The object is worn during agricultural ceremonies, during sowing in the hope of increasing the future harvest.

Provenance :

  • Richard Vinatier Collection, Arles.
