Very rare Fang spoon ? from Gabon, presenting a deep oval spoon, topped by the carved handle of two snakes separated on the bottom and on the top but coiled together around the middle of the handle, the two heads with jaws open barring their fangs, incised round eyes,

Beautiful caramel blond patina shining in some places.
Very old illegible label.
There can be found in the sale of the Luba and Ernesto Wolf collection by Artcurial in 2012 at page 74, 4 examples of Fang spoon one of which includes a handle where two snakes are coiled together, their mouth open barring their fangs, spoon collected by Visser in 1901 museum for Volker Kunde, Berlin.
