Zoomorphic baoulé spoon, Ivory Coast.
The handle topped by a baboon sculpted in a dynamic attitude, flexing on its limbs, as if ready to pounce
Beautiful finesse in the engraving of the features, the face drawing a heart, semi closed eyes, the ears and the mouth implied. The tail forming a handle whose cuve responds to the curve of the bowl.
Beautiful brown patina, crusty in some places.
