The history of the Manufacture Zuber & Cie is special in that it is a very faithful reflection of the history of wallpaper in Europe.

Founded in 1790, installed in Rixheim (France) in 1797 in a former Teutonic knight's commandery, it still prints today, which makes it the oldest wallpaper factory still in operation.

The Zuber Manufactory has preserved one or more copies of a very large number of its creations, approximately 130,000 documents. The main strength of this collection is its size, unprecedented in the profession, especially during the second half of the 19th century.

Zuber also manufactured upholstery fabrics, leather and paint.
