Having never wanted to part with this work, Anne Marie Paul kept it all her life, taking it to her various workshops.

This enigmatic work, presenting the face of a wise man separated as two hands discovering in the background a youthful face showing a great interiority. Allegory of wisdom. Would Wisdom be a mask which time adorns us?

Anne-Marie Paul met Calder, worked in Miro's studio, was a friend of Georges Mathieu, and also met César with whom she worked and participated in the elaboration of certain works.
