Sacrées Cuillères 2

The spoons that I invite you to appreciate in this exhibition are part of the immense richness that Africa offers to our eyes and understanding.

Often ritualistic, sometimes indicating the high status of their owner, they always demonstrate the richness of the imagination and the talent of their sculptor. As such, they are part of the great African sculpture tradition, just like the statues and masks of various ethnic groups.

I hope to bring you as much pleasure in viewing these pieces as I had in discovering them, and thus, as much as possible, help to make the invisible visible.
