AZANKPO Tété
AZANKPO Tété
Tété Azankpo was born in Lomé, Togo, on November 11, 1968, and began showcasing his work in 1997. Azankpo gained recognition in France, Germany, and the Netherlands. He is a surgical artist, firmly believing that chance is a concept that doesn't exist. He aesthetically stitches together the tears borne by this world with sturdy wires, symbolizing them in original concepts. In the imperative need to banish inequality and the urgency to make room for reunifications, he believes that unity is a whole that must be preserved.
He grants immortality to used materials like enameled basins, metals, wood, and more. These materials are taken to the artist-surgeon's operating room, and his works all conceal a truth. He is an artist aware of his era, confident and motivated to make his art immediately operational to open up avenues of reflection.
